Option for save dialog to stay unfolded
Last modified: 2007-05-01 20:35:23 UTC
There should be an option for example in GConf or somewhere to keep save dialogs stay unfolded. It is very annoying if you have different new documents created in Gedit and everytime you save a new document you have to unfold the save dialog if you wanna choose another folder for the document. In short: please add an option that allows to stay the save dialog in the state shown in the attached screenshot.
Created attachment 69182 [details] Gnome save dialog in unfolded state It should be possible to keep the save dialog in unfolded with activated "Browse for other folders". Now everytime you save a file you have to klick on the option "Browse for other folders" to get a full file list which is very annoying.
I saw a patch for Gentoo on the following page: http://twc.sshunet.nl/~mpsindla/files/gtk+-dialog.patch I don't know if this works for SUSE's Gtk, too!?
Similar to an OO complaint
We have a patch in SLED 10 SP1 (gtk2-expand-file-chooser.diff) to makethe file chooser remember this setting.
@Frederico: can you offer this patch for openSUSE versions, too? For example as an update for GTK2 packages? That would be great!
This will be available in openSUSE 10.3 :) Here's the patch if you want to play with it for 10.1.

Moving to 10.3
Fixed upstream; 10.3 will have this fix.
