Missing postgresql packages in openSuSE 10.1 beta 2?
Last modified: 2006-03-27 12:22:09 UTC
I can't find postgresql packages in beta2, the only package I have is postgresql-libs The other package I'm looking for are : - postgresql - postgresql-contrib - postgresql-debuginfo - postgresql-devel - postgresql-docs - postgresql-pl - postgresql-server Where can we found them? Jean-Philippe.
Rather unlikely. Reinhard: Please provde a comment.
Due to space limitations the CD sets can only hold a fraction of the packages, and I have no influence on which packages go to the CDs. But the full set of PostgreSQL RPMs is available from the "Factory" installation source during the beta phase, and will be part of the final 10.1 DVD.
Ok thank you for the answer. Where can we download those RPMs ?
For a list of all downloads see: http://en.opensuse.org/Development_Version#Downloads You need the "Internet Installation Repository" under http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/ You can add that (or one of the mirrors) to an existing beta installation as an additional installation source to add packages that are missing from the CDs.
Reinhard: If you are sure these packages are missing, it's allright, you might have a look at bug #152611, though. We should not dismiss the possibility that this is a problem with the new packager.
The PostgreSQL packages in question haven't been on the CD sets for many releases of SUSE Linux, and I think the same holds true for MySQL. So it would be a very big surprise if they had been put on the CDs in the latest betas, but at the same time hidden again by some obscure installer bug.
