Bugzilla – Bug 153367
radeon driver fails
Last modified: 2006-02-28 09:53:40 UTC
sax automatically sets up my Radeon X300 with driver radeon in xorg.conf . This was still working with beta3. Now it hangs the machine on X startup. The last line of Xorg.log says: "(WW) RADEON(0): Enabling DRM support" Even starting sax with "sax2 -rl" fails. When I use the "VESA" driver X works. You can have a look at it on host bessel.suse.de.

Same problem in IBM R50p (32 bit) and on 64bit machine with Radeon 9600.
And completely reconfigure X11 using "sax2 -r". X11 configuration during installation is totally broken in Beta5 due to package manager.
Yes, this fixes the problem on my R50p. Can I have the package also for 64bit. to see, if it is the same problem on that machine?
confirmed radeon driver is working now with attached RPM from #4. Thanks.

This fixed it for the T42p based on the ATI Radeon 350 too... Thanks
When running in DualHead mode with driver #4, the external display stays black. The external LCD menue shows 60.3kHz/75.2Hz with 1024x768. xorg.conf is attached... xdpyinfo shows correct size (2424x1050).
