During update, YaST2 QT UI shows all i686 for deletion. During update, all i686 RPMs were replaced with the i586 version.

This is not Beta5, but the stable autobuild tree from this weekend with the new libzypp and other YaST2 changes.

Indeed, computation of upgrade candidates did not take architecture into account.
Fixed.
