Description Clark Tompsett 2006-03-05 00:03:45 UTC
In beta 3, I configured a Verizon aircard (pc 5740) in Network Manager. Card would connect and funtion properly. Card uses /dev/ttyACM0.

In Beta 6, after configuring the card, trying to connect results in an entry in messages saying:

ifup modem0
No configuration found for modem0.

In /etc/sysconfig/network/ ifcfg-modem0 exists.

This occurs in both 32 and 64 bit versions.

Please attach /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-modem0
If this could be a YaST problem, also attach the YaST logfiles.

I think this is rather a problem with NetwormManager.
Comment 7 Robert Love 2006-03-08 14:20:20 UTC
It seems not, actually, looking at the logs.

What does `/sbin/ifup modem0` return?
Comment 8 Clark Tompsett 2006-03-09 02:23:01 UTC
modem0

No configuration found for modem0
Comment 9 Robert Love 2006-03-10 18:45:02 UTC
zoz: Hi! For some reason, "modem0" stopped being a valid configuration, and `ifup` fails. Any ideas what went wrong?
Comment 10 Christian Zoz 2006-03-10 20:01:27 UTC
Will check that. Have the same problems with bonding devices. Seems all non-physical and dialup devices are affected.

Danke, Christian.

Since I can not access the bug 157001 I write my comments here:
In RC3 I can configure a modem but I am not able to access it via networkmanager, it is not shown there.
