Suse 10.1 has ALSA 1.0.11rc3.

This version of alsa has problems doing recording on an Intel D945 chipset based system. Here is the output from the hwinfo --sound command:

The latest in CVS on alsa-project does have patches to resolve this issue.

The 10.1 is sync'ed with ALSA CVS version.

If it still happens on beta6, it must be a bug existing in the ALSA upstream, too.  If so, please reopen.
