eth0 has only an ip v6 address however I'm not sure about the problem. How did you setup your network (did you assign a static address to eth0)? Did you choose the traditional method or NetworkManager?
I make a network installation, from a DHCP server with the sources. After first reboot, YaST2 don't find the correct device. When I start a SLP Installation, YaST2 is starting correct, YaST2 is searching for the SLP Server and ask me, what sources i would like to install. I mark SLES or SL10.1, the installation is starting. The network cable is connected on the RTL8169. After first reboot, the network is configured on the NOT connected RTL8139 device ? I use the "default" method of network config. On this stage, I can't choose a Network method ;).
Please attach the directory /etc/sysconfig/network as a tarball here.
