Description Martin Szulecki 2006-03-12 17:21:41 UTC
When opening the resource tab in the gnome system monitor, the history graphs are not redrawn in realtime anymore. However, switching a tab and returning to the resource tab redraws them once.

It worked fine with the previous version of the system monitor. (During beta 5 I think a new customized one with a "novell strip" system tab was introduced)

It appears the "system" tab has been added to gnome 2.14 and appearently that system-monitor is used here. However the new one uses a different system (cairo) to draw the graphs (the one here does not look like using it though) and maybe something was "mixed" during compilation. (either I am totally wrong here or it could help to fix the issue)

Reproduce:
--------------------
1) Start System Monitor
2) Click Resource tab
3) Watch graphs
4) Also switch tabs, return to resource tab and watch graphs

System:
--------------------
- SUSE LINUX 10.0.42 (i586) Beta8
- kernel 2.6.16-rc5-git9-2-smp
- Xgl (issue also with Xorg)
- "nvidia" driver on Geforce 6660 GT
- Latest gnome packages from factory

Notes:
--------------------
- Gnome System Monitor Panel Applet Graphs redraws OK
- This appearently is not a "hardware setup" issue (got same behaviour reports from several other users running Xorg)
- Since I am running Xgl, I attempted the same on Xorg with same issue
