Description Jana Jaeger 2006-03-13 07:58:37 UTC
After having updated my workstation from 10.0 to 10.1, the media:/ slave wouldn't work.

I plugged in an USB stick which probably even was recognized correctly:

usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 4
usb 2-2: new device found, idVendor=058f, idProduct=9380
usb 2-2: new device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
usb 2-2: Product: Mass Storage Device
usb 2-2: Manufacturer: Generic
usb 2-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
scsi2 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
usb-storage: device found at 4
usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
Vendor: Generic Model: Flash Disk Rev: 7.77
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
SCSI device sda: 64000 512-byte hdwr sectors (33 MB)
sda: Write Protect is off
sda: Mode Sense: 03 00 00 00
sda: assuming drive cache: write through
SCSI device sda: 64000 512-byte hdwr sectors (33 MB)
sda: Write Protect is off
sda: Mode Sense: 03 00 00 00
sda: assuming drive cache: write through
 sda: sda1
sd 2:0:0:0: Attached scsi removable disk sda
sd 2:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg0 type 0
usb-storage: device scan complete

but when I tried to access the media by calling konqueror media:/

I get: The KDE mediamanager is not running

no crash dialog at all? How does your .xsession-errors look like? Does it work if you relogin?
