Bugzilla – Bug 157892
consider including dhcpcd 2.0
Last modified: 2008-06-25 09:53:54 UTC
First of all, kudos to all SUSE developers for making such a great distro. I only have simple request for enhancement. dhcpcd had new upstream since July 2005. It's currently hosted on BerliOS and maintained by srk (from Debian, I think) and uberlord (from Gentoo). It would be great if SUSE could switch to dhcpcd 2.0; it would make it a lot easier to maintain for both SUSE and new upstream. There is really low risk of breaking things with this upgrade.
Hello Vedran, thanks for the commendation ;) Please consider writing an email to the package-maintainer for such requests if the current version does not actually cause a problem.
Hi, our dhcpcd is largely the same as what was tagged 2.0 recently. I will upgrade to 2.0 soon, but after 10.1. We carry a number of local patches that are specific to our distro and can't be merged upstream, and there is some work to do to integrate that local stuff into 2.0, but it will happen. I'll set the bug to LATER for now.
mass reopening all SuSE Linux bugs that are set to REMIND+LATER to change the resolution to WONTFIX (adapting to new policy)
Closing old LATER+REMIND bugs as WONTFIX - if you still plan to work on it, feel free to reopen and set to ASSIGNED. In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;(
