Description Jiri Dluhos 2006-03-14 16:37:50 UTC
Could we provide an option to download and install the proprietary ATI 3D driver via our Online Update system, like it is possible with nVidia?

I believe it would help quite a large set of users who would like to use 3D acceleration but do not dare to install the drivers manually (it is a nontrivial task with compiling the kernel module etc.)

This would be especially appreciated when the XGL is deployed :-)

This is finally set up for SLES10/SLED10 and also works for SUSE 10.1. See
my ATI/NVIDIA HOWTO.
