Description Frank-Michael Fischer 2006-03-21 09:40:47 UTC
My system encounters bug 158983 so I need the "noapic" workaround during installation. The installed system then freezes reliably after a couple of minutes (with no error messages whatsoever) if the "noapic" boot option is not given.

There are no error messages in the logs I could find. I've encountered a very similar problem earlier (bug 72391). There I had to turn HyperThreading off to make the system stable, "noapic" rendered the system non-bootable at that time.

Can you try the latest kernel of the day? The apic fix went in
after the Beta 8 kernel was made.

No activity for 1,5 weeks, and we have shipped the suspected fix in a new beta now. Please re-open if the bug persists with beta9.
