Bugzilla – Bug 161722
pilot-link 0.12.0-prev4 is not supposed to be packaged - downgrade
Last modified: 2006-04-10 09:03:42 UTC
Most pilot-link based package don't work anymore. Bugs Reports: #160571 #157485 #160261 I tested kpilot, gpilotd, jpilot and libopensync-plugin-palm with a 3Com Palm V, Treo 270 and Treo 600 without success. Only pilot-link native tools are working. The previous versions of 0.12.0 of pilot-link are not supposed to be packaged: "[...] the FAT GLARING WARNING about NOT packaging up pilot-link 0.12.x [...]" http://www.pilot-link.org/node/203 Annoucment of pilot-link 0.12.0-prev4: http://www.pilot-link.org/node/166 I recommend to downgrade to the latest stable pilot-link version 0.11.8. This was also an issue for SL10.0. Today i will check in version 0.11.8 in beta so we can see which builds will break.
assigned to package maintainer
A downgrade is ok, please get this into autobuild thursday
Checked in pilot-link version 0.11.8 in BETA Following packages were affected by pilot-link API downgrade: + pilot-mailsync + pilot-mailsync-gnome-pilot + pilot-mailsync-jpilot + evolution + libmal + jpilot-Backup Disabled pilot-link 0.12 API patches for all affected packages - also checked in (BETA).
Thnx Daniel for you help, I am going to test it with Palm Vx (serial port).
Checked in pilot-link (0.11.8) evolution gnome-pilot libmal into STABLE. Petr will check in jpilot-Backup and pilot-mailsync.
