reassign to maintainer

Comment 6 JP Rosevear 2006-04-04 12:38:00 UTC
I'm not sure this theme is really being used any more, reducing.
Comment 7 Federico Mena Quintero 2006-04-04 19:50:38 UTC
Does this happen only with gtk-qt-engine?

Why are we still shipping that piece of crap?
Comment 8 Stanislav Brabec 2006-04-05 08:48:56 UTC
Yes, it seems to crash only during theme change from Qt to any other theme.
Comment 9 JP Rosevear 2006-04-05 20:23:20 UTC
Reducing further.
Comment 10 JP Rosevear 2006-04-25 14:48:21 UTC
AJ, I'd say we pull this off the media for now. Re-assign back to gnome afterwards please.
Comment 11 Andreas Jaeger 2006-04-25 14:57:35 UTC
What do you propose to pull off exactly?
Comment 12 JP Rosevear 2006-04-25 15:44:00 UTC

I have installed 10.1 GM, running on AMD 64, with Gnome installed as the default Window Manager. I have not set any changes to the theme etc. My system periodically crashes. I have not used Gnome much, I have always used KDE.

What can I do to help with debug tracing and helping towards solving this issue etc? Is this the same issue as this one, as I do not change the theme or anything. I seem to always have Firefox open at the time of crashing.
Comment 17 Matthew Saunders 2006-06-25 13:51:51 UTC
I have done two things, firstly turned zmd off:

/etc/init.d/novell-zmd stop
chkconfig novell-zmd off

and then updated the Nvidia drivers for my 6200 from the Nvidia website:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce 6200 (rev a1)

Other symptoms were screen artifacts etc. I guess this is a different issue to this bug, either zmd or nVidia driver. SLED final beta (32bit) had the same effect as 10.1 GM 64-bit.

It seems to have stopped crashing and the screen artifacts have gone.

We're not going to use qt industrial any more.
