Description Jan Holesovsky 2006-04-05 13:26:08 UTC
Installed all eclipse*.rpm, ran 'eclipse', seen the splash screen, and then a dialog "An error has occured. See the log file /local/home/kendy/.eclipse/.metadata.log."

I'll attach the log file. This happens on x86-64 (if is that relevant), no idea how it looks on i586.

Hi.
Could you please try to run eclipse with SUN Java? Up to now we have not yet adjusted our applications to gcj, which is why it can still be troublesome to use gcj for bigger applications.
Sorry for that,
regards,
Daniel

Tested again on RC1. After installation of java-1_4_2-sun.rpm, eclipse started fine & seems to work well; so it seems just like one more require ;-) Thank you!

looks like the issue is resolved. I'll go ahead and close this one...
Comment 6 Jan Holesovsky 2006-05-02 16:45:55 UTC
Sorry for re-opening...

/work/CDs/all/full-x86_64/suse/i586> rpm -qp --requires eclipse.rpm
eclipse-gtk2
rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1
rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1
rpmlib(PayloadIsBzip2) <= 3.0.5-1

No Sun Java require; or do I query a wrong package? ;-)
