Bugzilla – Bug 165142
SMP kernel loaded for non-SMP machine
Last modified: 2006-04-11 11:13:35 UTC
Installed Suse 10.1 via internet on Dell Inspiron 8500 w/2.2 GHz P4 processor. When I click on My Computer, OS is listed as Linux 2.6.16-18SMP i686. Checked boot log, it shows SMP kernel also loaded. Both default and SMP kernels have folders in /lib/modules. Gnome desktop is also about 3 times slower than KDE desktop and KDE is about twice as slow as KDE 3.5.1 in Suse 10.0. Thought this might be affecting that.
