Description dsdf sdsd 2006-04-28 11:54:12 UTC
I've looked at this bug: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=134891
and I seem to be having the same problem. Except that I use a version where /etc/modprobe.d/ibm_acpi looks "ok".
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
root@~ # more /etc/modprobe.d/ibm_acpi
#
# IBM ACPI driver options
#
# A detailed description of the parameters for the IBM ACPI driver can be found
# in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/ibm-acpi.txt which is part of the package
# 'kernel-source'.
#
# If you encounter problems with the hotkey mask please file a bug on
# http://bugzilla.novell.com/
#

options ibm_acpi hotkey=enabled,0xffff experimental=1
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This looks ok:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
root@~ # cat /proc/acpi/ibm/hotkey
status: enabled
mask: 0xffff
commands: enable, disable, reset, <mask>
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But I can't swith monitor-output(fn-f7) or turn on bluetooth(fn-f5). Nothing happens when I push those.

If I do
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
root@~ # echo enable > /proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The bluetooth comes alive. So there seems to be something else.

Thanks.

With regard to Fn-F7 please have a look at bug #164709.

The Bluetooth issue was recently fixed, see bug #128088.

Closing as DUPLICATE of bug #128088.

Please calm down. As I was not in CC'ed to the bug, I did not get notified about comment #2.

Quoting #164709:

> The switchdisplay Fn key works in so many different ways, that it
> currently is not (always) supported in X. You have to configure X to
> enable the secondary output (in sax2). After that it just works, without
> switching the output on or off.

Again, closing as duplicate of bug #128088.
