Description Felix Miata 2006-06-03 12:02:23 UTC
using AJ's updated package stack from 2006-06-02
My [SLE] post:

Response from Andreas Jaeger:

This was originally a factory FTP install in January 2006. Last previous update was ~at time for 10.1 release fork.

Strange, I also tested AJ's repository and it worked for me.
Comment 3 Jiří Suchomel 2006-06-05 09:29:28 UTC
Felix, how could you select patches in online-update, when you didn't have it configured? Or do you really mean you've selected packages and not patches?
Comment 4 Jiří Suchomel 2006-06-05 10:47:25 UTC
Sorry for misleading first part of question, for configuration it is sufficient to add update source (this time ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/aj/10.1-packagemanagement-update-test). However the second part of question remain: did you try to install packages or patches?

(BTW, I've just installed fresh 10.1, added Andreas's source, ran yast2-online-update and without any problems installed libzypp patch)
Comment 5 Felix Miata 2006-06-05 11:19:46 UTC
yast2 online_update listed one item in the upper left pane, and the whole list from http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=suse-linux-e&m=114923437712109&w=2 in the upper right pane. All I did was open yast2 online_update, and click accept.

First, the online-update module didn't crashed but siletly exited when it found there is no patch it can apply. I think the reason for this was that libzypp patch was found incomplete because it required yast2 package with exact version 2.13.59-0.2 which probably was not present on your system.

As I wrote, I tested it on fresh install of 10.1 and it worked correctly, so the problem might be in your factory installation.

Schubi, could you please check the logs and tell the reason why the patch wasn't selected (or wasn't installed)?
Comment 7 Stefan Schubert 2006-06-07 13:32:46 UTC
Yes, indeed. Your system is older than the patches. So the patches has unfulfille requirements and will not be selected for installation:
