Description Forgotten User 7Vd19u3Vod 2006-06-24 14:54:04 UTC
I tried to change the behavious of the KDM login screen, e.e. greeting string, users to display, logo, background picture, etc.

- through the adminstrator mode of the KDE control center
- via the /etc/sysconfig editor in YaST2

None of this seems to have any effect on the KDM layout, except that I see the specified background picture for a fraction of a second after logging in from KDM to a user.

I also started the system after deleting /tmp completly - no effect.

Comment 1 Christian Boltz 2006-06-24 15:12:39 UTC
(Alexander, please don't inline long configuration files. Bugzilla has a feature to attach files which should be used instead.)

/etc/sysconfig/displaymanager:
# Define the theme to be used by kdm. If empty, the traditional login
# window is used (which lacks some features)
DISPLAYMANAGER_KDM_THEME="SUSE"

You probably need to unset this.

KDE developers: Please do not close this as invalid.

This is at least a usability problem - changing the theme via kcontrol should work.
