Description Victor Billings 2006-06-27 20:25:26 UTC
SLED build : 1360
Banshee build : banshee-0.10.9-26.32

Details : The GoTo current track button is non-functional.

Steps :
1.create a large playlist where it scrolls off the users view
2.select a track at the top of the playlist to play
3.scroll the playlist down until you cannot see the current track
4.click on the current track button - notice that nothing happens

Expected : I expected this button to take me to the track that is playing currently. If this is not the "GoTo current track" button, then please feel free to mark this as an enhancement request for a current track button :) Both iTunes and Amarok have the ability to go to the playing track as a feature.

Alternatively, Banshee shouldn't have a button that doesn't do anything. If this is supposed to be just a decoration then it should not be clickable. See screencap for a view of what button I am referring to.

There's an icon in this column for the currently playing track. I'd assumed it was just an iconic column label rather than a button. As a column label, it's functional, if passively.

Aaron: is this supposed to be a button?
Comment 3 Aaron Bockover 2006-06-28 08:52:21 UTC
This is just an iconic label to indicate what is playing. Maybe it's not necessary, maybe it could be extended later to jump to the current track. However, it presented no issues during user testing last year, so I'd vote for dropping this to enhancement.

Changing to an enhancement

This indicator is removed in the latest Banshee that will ship in openSUSE 11.

Mass-moving some banshee bugs from GNOME to Banshee.
Comment 7 Gabriel Burt 2008-06-12 00:09:44 UTC
Since the icon has been removed from the column header, and since the column is used to indicate multiple things (errors, downloading podcast, etc), I think clicking the header causing jump-to-playing would be confusing. Closing as WONTFIX.
