Bugzilla – Bug 189248
ZMD can't refresh services (unable to parse XML Metadata) zen lose my catalogs and services when he's unconnected from Internet
Last modified: 2006-10-11 23:13:45 UTC
Hello, I have done all recent updates concerning Zenworks, but i still have a problem... When my laptop is unconnected from the network, sometimes, ZMD try to refresh services (dvd and update server) but can't and zmd-messages.log return me this error : "Failed to had service... failed to parse XML metadata : Unknown failure" So all my services (including dvd) have "Inactive Status" et i have no more catalogs available... The next time my computer is connected to the network after this, services and catalogs still broken, i must manually restart zmd (rug restart) to reactivate them...
I believe this is a duplicate assigning to James to review.
I'm having the same problem with the following differences: - There is a permanent network connection - Restarting zmd has no effect My zmd-messages contains the following: 30 Jun 2006 12:20:53 INFO UnixWebServer Unix server stopped 30 Jun 2006 12:20:53 WARN ShutdownManager Restarting daemon... 30 Jun 2006 12:20:53 INFO Daemon Starting ZMD version 7.1.1 30 Jun 2006 12:20:53 INFO Daemon Using Mono 1.1.13.8 30 Jun 2006 12:20:53 INFO WebCache Expiring cached files... 30 Jun 2006 12:20:53 INFO KeyManager Loading key whitelist 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 INFO Daemon Loading trusted certificates... 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 WARN NetworkManagerModule Failed to connect to NetworkManager 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 INFO ModuleLoader Loaded 'NetworkManager' - 'NetworkManager support' 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 INFO ModuleLoader Loaded 'Package Management' - 'Package Management module for Linux' 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 INFO ModuleLoader Loaded 'ZENworks Server' - 'SOAP methods used by a ZENworks server' 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 INFO ModuleLoader Loaded 'XML-RPC interface' - 'Export ZMD public interfaces over XML-RPC' 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 INFO ServiceManager Mounting Initial Services 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 INFO ServiceManager Adding service (keeping if fail): http://ftp.ale.org/pub/suse/update/10.1 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 INFO ServiceManager Adding service (keeping if fail): ftp://sipbuild.solutioninc.com/pub/suse/10.1/ 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 INFO ServiceManager Adding service (keeping if fail): http://software.opensuse.org/download/home:/jimfunk/SUSE-10.1/ 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 WARN Daemon Not starting remote web server 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 INFO UnixWebServer Unix server listening for connections. 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 INFO DaemonHealth Current RSS size is 18148 KB 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 INFO ServiceManager Failed to add service 'ftp://sipbuild.solutioninc.com/pub/suse/10.1/' (keeping): Failed to parse XML metadata: Unknown failure 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 INFO WebCache Expiring cached files... 30 Jun 2006 12:20:54 ERROR ServiceManager Service Refresh Failed: Failed to parse XML metadata: Unknown failure 30 Jun 2006 12:20:55 INFO ServiceManager Failed to add service 'http://software.opensuse.org/download/home:/jimfunk/SUSE-10.1/' (keeping): Failed to parse XML metadata: Unknown failure 30 Jun 2006 12:20:56 INFO ServiceManager Failed to add service 'http://ftp.ale.org/pub/suse/update/10.1' (keeping): Failed to parse XML metadata: Unknown failure
James. Related to bug #184813?
(In reply to comment #3) > James. Related to bug #184813? I also think, but it would be better if the "dvd" support should remain available even out-connection ??? would'nt it ???
(In reply to comment #3) > James. Related to bug #184813? > The machine in question has a permanent link with a static IP, so there is no 'disconnection'. The refreshes failed, even after rczmd restart and even though I could curl the urls. So, once I got back here after the weekend zmd had deleted the sources: 30 Jun 2006 13:50:54 INFO ServiceManager Attempting to retry service 'ftp://sipbuild.solutioninc.com/pub/suse/10.1/' (try 3) 30 Jun 2006 13:50:54 ERROR ServiceManager Service refresh failed for 'suse101': Failed to parse XML metadata: Unknown failure 30 Jun 2006 13:50:54 ERROR ServiceManager Maximum number of retry attempts reached for adding service 'ftp://sipbuild.solutioninc.com/pub/suse/10.1/' 30 Jun 2006 13:50:55 INFO ServiceManager Attempting to retry service 'http://software.opensuse.org/download/home:/jimfunk/SUSE-10.1/' (try 3) 30 Jun 2006 13:50:55 ERROR ServiceManager Service refresh failed for 'funktronics': Failed to parse XML metadata: Unknown failure 30 Jun 2006 13:50:55 ERROR ServiceManager Maximum number of retry attempts reached for adding service 'http://software.opensuse.org/download/home:/jimfunk/SUSE-10.1/' 30 Jun 2006 13:50:56 INFO ServiceManager Attempting to retry service 'http://ftp.ale.org/pub/suse/update/10.1' (try 3) 30 Jun 2006 13:50:56 ERROR ServiceManager Service refresh failed for 'SUSE-Linux-10.1-Updates': Failed to parse XML metadata: Unknown failure 30 Jun 2006 13:50:56 ERROR ServiceManager Maximum number of retry attempts reached for adding service 'http://ftp.ale.org/pub/suse/update/10.1' I re-added them and now it's working, so I have no idea what went wrong...
The errors in that log are due to the zypp helper doing something bad. -> klaus
