Description Johannes Pöhlmann 2006-07-21 16:53:42 UTC
I tried to install on a 4Gig Partition.

I changed the package selection by hand.
Every change updated the bottom left free space
indicator. In the end, it showed me 78% used space.

Installation succeded until the kdm login.
Start of kde after login failed.

Reason: Disk was nearly full.

After deinstalling some packages kdm-Login
was possible.

In another install session Yast said 90% were used;
Later installation failed with "no space left".

Bottom line:
Yast severely underestimates the space needed by a manual package selection

Klaus, is it possible this miscalculation comes from temporary data that wasn't deleted after the installation?

Closing NOREPSONSE, due to missing information. Please retest on openSUSE
11.0 and create a new bug report if the problem still persists.
