Description Stefan Bogner 2006-10-19 18:09:07 UTC
Even though this request has been kind of rejected in IRC already, here's an enhancement request ;-)

"This is a quick-and-dirty LD_PRELOAD hack that allows *some* Gtk applications to use KDE's file dialogs when run under KDE. "

I am using this successfully with Gimp, Firefox and some others for quite a while already and it appears to be pretty stable, I've not had any serious issues up to now. It finally adds usable file open and save dialogs to Firefox and other Gnome apps. From an integration perspective, this is a huge step forward.

We will not include quick-and-dirty hacks into the distro.

So, what's the clean and proper solution then? Me and other people I read of, find the gnome file save dialog not very ergonomic.

Wait for Portland to standadize file-dialog usage across desktops.
