Yast2 Software Management module crashes if installation CD is not in drive. Works fine if it is.

Me too.

And there is a nasty dbus warning, and there are errors reading the inserted installation mini-iso cd when starting.

This is #214886. Pkg-bindings were not prepared to handle a media change request issued by a Source under construction. Leads to SEGV in requestMedia callback.
