Description Christian Hueller 2006-11-23 14:22:02 UTC
Description:

The "Scan Using SLP..." option in the Install Source module of YaST2 does not work, you can select it but if you click next it just says that no sources have been found. This happened on the suse network while plenty of SLP sources have been available.

Howto repeat:

o Install System from DVD/CD
o after logged into the installed system, launch yast
o click software-> install sources
o select "Add"
o on the next page you get a list of options which source you want to add
o select the first entry "Scan using SLP..."
o click next
=> no SLP sources are found even on a network with several SLP sources available

my bad, the firewall was running, disabling it solved the problem, however i don;t consider this as a valid way. Reducing severity to normal.
Comment 3 Lukas Ocilka 2006-11-24 14:53:09 UTC
Yes, this is a known issue. Firewall blocks the broadcast reply.

closing and LATER-Enhancement for 10.3, additional information can be found in FATE #301134: Configure firewall to accept bcast replies

For 10.2 there is no way to add a warning text.
