Bugzilla – Bug 223871
Can not activate WLAN card
Last modified: 2006-11-29 13:14:01 UTC
Starting yast2 lan to configure my WLAN card model "Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection". If I choose the WLAN card to edit I get following error message: "The device needs a firmware to function properly. It can be installed from openSUSE 10.2 Add-On CD. To install the firmware, add Add-On CD to your YaST installation sources and return to this configuration dialog." I've done so, but I always get this error message. Then I've installed with the needed package with "yast2 -i ipw-firmware" but I get the error message furthermore.

Ah, I see, the check for package availability was wrong. Peter, if you want to, you can test a patch, or I can build a new yast2-network package for you, before I finally submit the fix ;-)
Where can I find the patch or the new yast2-network modul?

The patch is wrong. Now yast2 lan can not start because of syntax error.

Created attachment 107350 [details] The fixed patch :-)
With the fixed patch it works fine.
kmachalkova@felix:~> for i in `seq 100`; do echo "I will check correctness of my patches before commiting to bugzilla"; done :-) Finally fixed in yast2-network 2.14.12
