Bugzilla – Bug 230434
evolution icons dont show up in kde
Last modified: 2007-11-12 13:39:23 UTC
Hi, when running evolution within kde, almost all icons dont show up, instead a document with red cross icon is displayed. However, when you start gnome-theme-manager once for the actual kde session (you may just close it without changing anything, in my case it even crashed) and start evolution then, the icons show up. btw. this has been the same in 10.1 for a while too...
Are you experiencing this still? I dont get it atleast.
Unfortunately yes. The gnome theme manager trick also doesn't work anymore, since it won't startup at all currently. In the meantime I had setup some x86_64 box and was surprised that icons showed up there, but after a while (and maybe some updates/SuSEconfig runs etc.) icons stopped showing up too. I have the feeling that the definitions for the icons are missing, since strace doesn't even show some search for icons, but I am really not sure and have no real idea where to start looking for. A while ago evolution said something about missing icons, but I did not have the time to look at the error in detail and now its gone. Its still there and really really annoying.
For me this issue also still exists. It started here after I set in KDE control center that KDE and Gnome should use the same theme ("Use my KDE style in GTK applications"). The selected KDE style is "Plastik". I have a second user on my system who did not enable this option and the problem does not occur for him.
I don't see any icon problem in OpenSUSE 10.3 fresh install. As per comment#2 (icn went off after update ), i am marking it as duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 231051 ***
