Bugzilla – Bug 238085
There should be a way to access all your applications thorugh the gnome slab menu
Last modified: 2012-05-15 16:59:06 UTC
The new gnome slab menu is a great but it has a problem; there is no way to access all application without having to open the separate application browser. Slab should have a submeny called "all applications" or something similar that opens the regular gnome menu. Users shouldn't have to open a separate application just the open the application they want. This is the most common compliant I've heard about the new menu and fixing it would increase its usefullness a lot.
I agree on the need to show the standard menu inside slab instead of or as an alternative to the application browser. It would make things much faster.
I agree too. I hope not to have to wait until ver 11 to have this function.
Moving to 11.0.
This should also apply to the search feature (deskbar applet style). Interesting thoughts are here http://www.barisione.org/blog.html/p=74
Moving to 11.1

Upstream bug about this as well: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396410
Sorry for the spam. I'm mass-closing gnome-main-menu/slab bugs: gnome-main-menu has gone unmaintained upstream because it's not usable in GNOME 3, and is not shipped since 12.1. I don't expect any maintenance updates for it in 11.4 either.
