There is related bug report for taboo, so I don't know if it the same issue or not.

Package A (keep) -> change to "protect" -> apply -> "do you want to install more packages?" -> yes -> search for A -> keep.

Cyrill, unfortunately my logs are too big for Novell bugzilla (problem already reported) -> over 5MB. Maybe there are some specific logs which could be compressed to less than that.

Anyway, it is fairly easy to reproduce so I don't think it is only my system case.

I can conform this for opensuse 10.2. Since it was asked for logs, are you not able to reproduce this with the simple steps given by the original reporter?

Since this bug can cause YaST to overwrite a package which was set to "protected" the severity should be raised to major, since overwriting data against the user's will is certainly not "normal".
