See attachment. Happens around 95% of the time. Will never happen if you i.e. hit "Test" instead of just wait for it to come on. Curious :).

same here.
maybe CCing mhopf and raising to major will let this very annoying bug get fixed 'til GM.
Comment 2 Matthias Hopf 2007-08-17 16:05:10 UTC
So this only happens in Xgl?

Please attach more information about your configuration (xorg.conf, /var/log/Xgl.log).
Comment 3 Hans-Peter Holler 2007-08-17 17:13:19 UTC
Oh, that's a fast response. Thanks.
Yes, this is with Xgl only.
Don't have access to the machine at the moment.
Logs will be attached tomorrow.

Comment 8 Hans-Peter Holler 2007-09-15 18:49:12 UTC
Sorry.

Comment 9 Forgotten User gj9_3EwFEj 2007-09-20 08:40:31 UTC
I too have this problem, any info/tests I could provide that would help ?
Comment 10 Hans-Peter Holler 2007-09-24 16:36:25 UTC
Still there with RC1 / today's Factory.
Raising severity / priority just to see if there will be any response before final.
Comment 11 Hans-Peter Holler 2007-10-05 09:59:01 UTC
Annoying. Still with final.

Maybe this helps:

screensaver is run with:
/opt/kde3/bin/kdesktop_lock --forcelock
in my case kdesktop_lock runs:
jigglypuff -root -complexity 2 -speed 250 -spherism 200 -hold 700 -distance 300 -damping 500 -spooky 0 -delay 20000

running screensaver that way leads to displacement.
btw: running /opt/kde3/bin/kdesktop_lock --forcelock directly from the commandline gives this message:
Xlib: extension "XFree86-Misc" missing on display ":0.0".

running jigglypuff directly from the commandline works perfectly without error messages.

This is a bug in KDE according to the following threads:

http://forum.compiz-fusion.org/showthread.php?p=24123

http://forum.compiz-fusion.org/showthread.php?t=4410

The second thread contains a patch againts kscreensaver!

Please consider applying this patch and releasing a security update. Thanks!
