Description Forgotten User 42maXmOW7B 2007-11-06 18:18:55 UTC
In the "Community Repositories" tool, when clicking on a repository's name (just highlighting it), its description is not shown in the lower pane titled "Repository Description". Only when the checkbox in front of its name is clicked (activating the repository) does the description appear.

Please attach y2logs. If you are in doubt follow:

Thanks!

A few additional observations:

The bug shows up only in the Gnome (gtk) GUI of YaST2. If I run the qt GUI (by setting WANTED_GUI="qt" in /etc/sysconfig/yast2) the description updates when clicking on the name of a repository as it should.

In the Gnome GUI, the Shift-F8 function for saving the y2logs advertised in http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs/YaST doesn't seem to work. I had to run save_y2logs from a command line as proposed for pre-9.3 SuSEn.

The save_y2logs command must be run as superuser, otherwise it fails because it wants to write to the /var/log directory. This might be worth mentioning on http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs/YaST.

Ah, also added Shift-F8. Sorry, I don't even get told of yast-core interface changes, much less about new yast-qt shortcuts.
