What hardware? Looks like rather a gstreamer problem.

hwinfo doesn't tell you all needed thing, unfortunately. Which hardware, vendor, product name, model, etc?

What shows /proc/asound/cards and /proc/asound/card0/codec#* files (if any)?
Comment 4 Casual J. Programmer 2007-11-12 16:20:48 UTC
It is a Fujitsu Siemens Computers Model Amilo Si1520 with Intel chip set (ICH7)

Comment 5 Takashi Iwai 2007-11-12 16:36:26 UTC
Thanks. And, I suppose that the sound works basically as far as I see these entries?
If so, I'll toss this bug to GNOME guys...
Comment 6 Casual J. Programmer 2007-11-12 17:01:04 UTC
Yes, otherwise there are no apparent problems, except Bug 340516 which seems to be fixed by now.
Comment 7 Takashi Iwai 2007-11-12 17:08:23 UTC
OK, thanks.
Comment 8 JP Rosevear 2007-11-12 17:22:03 UTC
Going to push this to rodrigo. We should revisit this as the pulse audio stuff comes in.
Comment 9 Magnus Boman 2008-04-28 09:38:02 UTC
This works for me in latest factory. Casual?

Comment 11 Magnus Boman 2008-04-28 10:15:14 UTC
Casual,
Yes, it'd be a different bug.
Also, check to make sure that pulseaudio is running by clicking on the volume applet, then manager. If it says "Can not connect" run pulseaudio from a terminal (as yourself, not as root) and try again.
