Description Tom Woelfel 2008-02-05 17:21:44 UTC
After upgrading to SUSE 10.3 Updated kernel package 2.6.22.16-0.1-default Frequency scaling is no longer supported. Insmoding the neccessary modules
failed:

nomad:/home/wrt # modprobe acpi-cpufreq
FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq (/lib/modules/2.6.22.16-0.1-default/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko): No such device
nomad:/home/wrt #

Downgrading to 2.6.22.13-0.3-default SOLVES the problem. Upgrading to 2.6.22.16-0.1-default shows again this problem.

I've seen this behaviour also on

- Laptop : Toshiba Satellite A100 (DualCore2)
- Shuttle XPC: Dual AMD
- Shuttle XPC: Dual Core2

Best regards,
Tom

Seem to be fixed with 2.6.22.16-0.2-default - works on Toshiba again. I'll check the other machines too.

--> Close.
