[multiscreen] Wrong resolution displayed for the external monitor
Last modified: 2009-02-08 13:17:33 UTC
1. Run gnome-display-properties 2. Click detect 3. See that you have a second monitor in the canvas. The size looks good 4. Look at the proposed resolutions for this monitor: they're not good. More specifically, it should list 1440x900 for me. And it lists 1400x1050 (which is the resolution of my main monitor)
Note that it works fine if I run "xrandr --output VGA-0 --auto --right-of LVDS" first.
Which driver and what is the output of xrandr?
(In reply to comment #2 from M. S.) > Which driver and what is the output of xrandr? I don't have the external screen anymore... And I'm not sure on which computer it was -- so it was either a r300 card (running with the radeon randr12 driver) or a newer radeon card running with radeonhd.
See bug #441404 about making sax2 not set up static configurations, so that the tools will be able to actually use the resolutions that are reported by monitors.
