Bugzilla – Bug 382696
On LiveCD, GNOME keeps mounting partitions during installation, thus disabling yast live-installer
Last modified: 2008-05-16 18:37:33 UTC
On my hard disk, before the installation, I had: /dev/sda1 /dev/sda2 During the installation (using "yast2 live-installer") I told partitioner to erase entire hard drive, and create a new layout, which was same as before (but it was instructed to delete previous partitions and create new ones): /dev/sda1 (/boot) /dev/sda2 (LVM for /home and /) However: /dev/sda1 was already mounted, so partitioner failed. I unmounted /dev/sda1, tried again, but after the installer recreated /dev/sda1, gnome again mounted it, and installer never got to create a new file system on it. I ended up having to manually erase two existing partitions with cfdisk, reboot, and now the installer works fine.
Hello, please send all yast2 logs. If you are in doubt follow: http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs/YaST Thanks
Unfortunately, I can't :( I don't have the spare HD any more and can't risk losing my data. If anybody has a free HD and spare time, please try to recreate my scenario.
