Bugzilla – Bug 401773
knetworkmanager does not show Status of connection
Last modified: 2008-08-18 13:21:43 UTC
If you were to look at features in openSUSE 10.3 for network manager you would certainly see that you could right click the knetworkmanager icon and see an option to show the current connection status. Even the gnome nm-applet has this in openSUSE 11.0 - please add this functionality back in. Even if its a mouse over affect, which i understand is supposed to be able to do, but that even is not working.
I've just added some tooltips to the KNetworkManager SVN.

The German translation of the tooltip contents is really bad: Device: eth0 Status: Runter
(In reply to comment #3 from Jörg Hermsdorf) > The German translation of the tooltip contents is really bad: > > Device: eth0 > Status: Runter Ha ha, yes it is :) Could you please create a new bug report for that (and maybe for other translations as well) as I have nothing to do with the translations.
Can we get something in the Network Manager that gives us status of the network connections.. I want to see more than just "connected" - I want to see the IP addr, MAC addr, etc.. I notice that right and left click do the same things.. why can't we have left click show the menu and right click show the complete status of each connection.
