Description Wolfgang Rosenauer 2008-07-07 13:19:38 UTC
bluetooth can't be enabled by Fn-F5 on Thinkpad T43

echo enable > /proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth

works.
Comment 1 Kevin Ivory 2008-07-14 09:49:56 UTC
Same here with Thinkpad X41
Comment 2 Kevin Ivory 2008-07-14 10:01:00 UTC
In analogy to Bug 297812 - ThinkPad: Fn-F5 button does not toggle Bluetooth (openSUSE 10.3), the following works with openSUSE 11.0:
echo enable,0xffffef > /proc/acpi/ibm/hotkey
With this (or the same in/etc/modprobe.d/thinkpad_acpi), the Bluetooth toggle with Fn-F5 works as expected. I have no idea what this mask does and if it breaks something else.
Comment 3 Kevin Ivory 2008-07-14 11:47:55 UTC
The other recommendation in Bug 297812 works as well: Don't change the mask but install hotkey-setup (only available from packman repository ?!) and everything works just fine.

I think we had an online update to fix this, can you please check if it works having the latest updates installed?
Comment 7 Wolfgang Rosenauer 2008-08-15 11:53:13 UTC
It seems to be fixed now indeed.

So closing...
