Bugzilla – Bug 411749
cannot install the Canon Pixma mp610 - printer nor scanner!
Last modified: 2008-08-14 06:02:58 UTC
It seems to be impossible to install the all-in-one printer/scanner Canon Pixma MP610: yast doesn't even mention this model and does not see anything on the USB-bus although the device is connected and working properly!
What's output from "hwinfo --scaner" and "hwinfo --printer"?
Created attachment 229854 [details] requested output Here goes the info. As i do see hwinfo --scanner (i catched the typo) doesn't output anything ?! so i included an lsusb from the canon-usb bus... Ciao - Jos.
Change serverity to MAJOR (Major loss of function)
Hi Michal, I am most thankfull for the change you made to the severity if this bug (didn't know the houserules ! ;-) ) - but what's next ? Can i be of any further help ? I would like to be able to at least use the scanner, because a great deal of my work needs the ability to scan texts (and OCR afterwards). Tnx in advance.
There is new yast2-printer module which fixes most of the bugs. If this problem occurs in this version, please reopen bugreport. http://mzugec.blogspot.com/2008/08/new-yast2-printer-configuration-module.html
