I'm keep getting following error message whenever I access YaST control center or any of its component like Software Management in 'netinstalled' OpenSUSE 11.1 on a i386 desktop:

Error message:
An error occurred while loading or saving configuration information for GNOME SuperUser. Some of your configuration settings may not work properly.

Googling for the error, with "GNOME SuperUser" stripped, returns a lot of hits. Doesn't seem YaST2 related, moving to GNOME.

Looks like a gconf issue. Still happening in Factory as of today. This is pretty visible :/

Same issue on kde 4.1.1
However, works on fvwm2

There are 2 known causes for this.
1. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=427859 - gnome-setting-daemon not starting because of a hang with pulse audio init.  This is fixed in Beta2

2. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=428963


This sounds like the first one which is fixed in Beta2. If you still see it though in Beta2, then track #2

Just installed openSUSE 11.1 Beta 2 from 'openSUSE-11.1-Beta2-DVD-i386' image.

As a ROOT User I'm still getting following YaST errors:

After becoming Superuser from a regular user when tried to open 'gedit', I got following error message:
