Description Andrew Joakimsen 2008-09-30 00:35:18 UTC
The remote is running openSUSE 11.0 x86 with default VNC settings.
The local is running the 64-bit version of the same on AMD hardware using
KRDC.

Both systems have KDE 3.5

When I VNC into the remote system I can see the same green login screen as I see on the system as if you were physically on it, but the mouse pointer does not work. If I select in KRDC Session > Show Local Cursor it works but with the local cursor.

I don't see such issues with vncviewer. This looks like a bug in krdc.
Comment 2 JP Rosevear 2008-10-24 18:50:53 UTC
This is filed against KDE 4, but you are actually on KDE 3.5? Does it work on 4.1?
Comment 3 Zachary Klein 2008-11-03 17:11:49 UTC
I am running KDE 4.1 and I have the same issue.
Comment 4 Andrew Joakimsen 2008-11-04 16:33:16 UTC
This is on KDE 3.5 on openSUSE 11.0.

For whatever reason it is installing the "KDE4" version of the program even though I never installed KDE4.

This bug exists in 11.1 final for i586 as well for any 11.1 to 11.1 VNC connection. I have also determined that RealVNC from a Windows box will crash when attempting a login to an 11.1 VNC server. Finally, KRDC4 connects just fine and has a visible cursor when connection to an SLES 10 VNC server, so maybe its a server issue?

Still an issue or can this be closed?

Cheers
