[kbd] Change default russian keymap
Last modified: 2008-10-23 13:30:28 UTC
In default installation with russian locale settings terminals (Alt+Ctrl+Fn) uses by default KEYTABLE="ru1.map.gz" but it totally unusable, with this keymap you simply cant type anything in russian in terminal, because this is not an utf8 keymap. Default KEYTABLE in russian language settings should be changed to an utf8 keymap, in example /usr/share/kbd/keymaps/i386/qwerty/ruwin_alt-UTF-8.map.gz, this one works good.
Nice to know it. Could you also confirm that the other console settings for Russian is correct (Cyr_a8x16.psfu font, "trivial" CONSOLE_SCREENMAP in /etc/sysconfig/console)
Yes "trivial" CONSOLE_SCREENMAP and Cyr_a8x16.psfu font are correct and working good out of the box now, trouble about keymap only.
OK, fixed in yast2-country-2.17.20. Marcus, please add an entry for ruwin_alt-UTF-8 to /usr/share/sax/sysp/maps/Keyboard.map...
done, thanks
All work as expected out of the box in 11.1 beta3
