Description Magnus Boman 2008-11-01 22:14:56 UTC
mozilla-xulrunner190-gnomevfs is needed by Firefox (Open Contaning Folder). A system installed from the GNOME LiveCD does not install this package by default.
Comment 1 Wolfgang Rosenauer 2008-11-01 22:21:07 UTC
KDE folks have chosen to cripple Firefox for their LiveCD on 11.0 to avoid having to include all of the Gnome (VFS) stuff by dependencies. I don't think that makes sense for the Gnome LiveCD.
Comment 2 Wolfgang Rosenauer 2008-11-05 11:20:19 UTC
BTW, I think it's not about being "installed by default" which would suggest that some pattern is wrong. It's actually not installed because it's not in the installation source since otherwise it would be installed automatically.

And I don't agree with Severity: normal and Priority: P4 - Low !

Not having the gnomevfs components means no gnome-vfs features (mainly for helper application detection) and more important no gconf support.
Firefox will be quite crippled without those.
