Patch by redeye in post 15

The currently released gspca-20071224 does not have support for the Logitech Quickcam E 2500. There is some discussion of this at http://forums.quickcamteam.net/showthread.php?tid=310. The patch posted by redeye in post #15 (http://forums.quickcamteam.net/showthread.php?tid=310&pid=1792#pid1792) works for me and apparently others (notably http://www.actionshrimp.com/2008/08/logitech-quickcam-e2500-on-ubuntu-skype/ worked for me on openSUSE 11.0).

I've attached the patch in question.

Would it possible to add this patch to the openSUSE build of gspca?

Further down in the same thread there is a potentially better patch (http://forums.quickcamteam.net/showthread.php?tid=310&pid=1949#pid1949) which would allow any webcam with the matching PID to work, not just the E2500. Note however that I have not tested this patch personally but I have attached it.

Reassign to kernel-maintainers.

Is this an issue on opensuse 11.1?
