boot hiccup with jexec initialisation
Last modified: 2009-01-13 09:06:34 UTC
I have noticed a boot hiccup twice so far. The step "Starting jexec services" does not make progress for over a minute so that I have got the impression that an initialisation part got stuck. Other users reported this issue, too. http://forums.opensuse.org/install-boot-login/402401-boot-hangs-starting-service-jexec.html http://forums.opensuse.org/install-boot-login/402087-11-1-hangs-first-boot.html http://forums.opensuse.org/pre-release-beta/401012-11-1rc1-boot-stuck-jexec.html The YaST2 software management does not show me a package which provides the component "jexec". The YaST2 runlevel editor shows the description "Supports the direct execution of binary formats" for this system service. The article "The jexec Wrapper" does not provide that kind of explanation I am looking for. http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-4820/6mkaodgad?l=Ja&a=view
You can delete the 'install binfmt_misc' line from /etc/modprobe.conf as a workaround. An online update for 11.1 will be released to address this. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 463582 ***
