Description Dieter Ernst 2008-12-28 23:32:31 UTC
In Version 11.1 again, the tabs "user" and "extended" in the Samba KDE-Control Module, do not work properly: Added users cannot be stored, and a number of settings in in the "extended" ("erweitert" in German) are greyed out. Most annoying however is the fact, that users cannot be added through a normal GUI, not even through the Control Center module.

I suspect it's probably how the kcontrol samba module is calling smbpasswd or pdbedit. yast had some issues with this, because the assumption was that stdin could be specified as an import source, but it cannot, because it's opened twice.

kdefolk, how does kcontrol add the users?

Also, Dieter, what specific items are you finding greyed out?
