Description Chris Beckett 2009-01-08 19:01:45 UTC
Problems with fresh install of openSUSE 11.1 final release. When using a web browser (both FF and Opera exhibit the same behaviour), the initial DNS lookup of a website is slow (10 seconds or more). Once the website is resolved and cached, it appears to be fine.

This is on a Dell Inspiron 1525 using a wireless connection. The network is not at fault as I have had an XP and openSUSE 11.0 machine on the wireless and they did not exhibit the issue. I have already tried disabling IPv6 as suggested in forums (others have seen this issue) but it did not help.

Let me know if I can provide any logs etc.

thanks for the report, this looks like a duplicate of #441947, we release an updated glibc asap.
