iwlagn associates and the disassociates without getting address from DHCP
Last modified: 2009-09-22 14:36:00 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; et; rv:1.9.1.0) Gecko/20090617 SUSE/3.5.0-2.2 Firefox/3.5 Affects only those who try to use WPA. Everything works as long as you use no encryption or WEP. Seems to be related to the same as http://www.intellinuxwireless.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1871 But i thought it to be major enough to set it up here, so we don't ship a product with nonworking WPA protected wireless on half of the worlds laptops. some log messages: Jul 1 13:45:50 asti kernel: [20701.184334] wlan0: authenticate with AP 00:1d:b3:4c:90:64 Jul 1 13:45:50 asti kernel: [20701.186166] wlan0: authenticated Jul 1 13:45:50 asti kernel: [20701.186174] wlan0: associate with AP 00:1d:b3:4c:90:64 Jul 1 13:45:50 asti kernel: [20701.195563] wlan0: RX AssocResp from 00:1d:b3:4c:90:64 (capab=0x411 status=0 aid=2) Jul 1 13:45:50 asti kernel: [20701.195573] wlan0: associated Jul 1 13:45:57 asti kernel: [20708.088360] wlan0: disassociating by local choice (reason=3) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. find a laptop with 4965 or 5399 intel card 2. Try to associate with AP with WPA encryption enabled 3. Enjoy the show. Actual Results: Jul 1 13:45:50 asti kernel: [20701.184334] wlan0: authenticate with AP 00:1d:b3:4c:90:64 Jul 1 13:45:50 asti kernel: [20701.186166] wlan0: authenticated Jul 1 13:45:50 asti kernel: [20701.186174] wlan0: associate with AP 00:1d:b3:4c:90:64 Jul 1 13:45:50 asti kernel: [20701.195563] wlan0: RX AssocResp from 00:1d:b3:4c:90:64 (capab=0x411 status=0 aid=2) Jul 1 13:45:50 asti kernel: [20701.195573] wlan0: associated Jul 1 13:45:57 asti kernel: [20708.088360] wlan0: disassociating by local choice (reason=3) And NetworkManager applet tries to get a new password for that connection Expected Results: it should've requested an IP address via DHCP and after receiving that let the NM show it's connected
I think this bug is a duplicate to bug number 509220.
Solved in factory.
can you please verify if it works in later milestones? it works for others.
Works fine now, yes. Didn't update it as it was thought to be a dup.
Closed as FIXED, but reopen if the problem reappears. Thank you.
