This happens with Milestone 8:

 # mkinitrd -k vmlinuz -i initrd

Kernel image:   /boot/vmlinuz
Initrd image:   /boot/initrd
cp: cannot stat `/etc/scsi_id.config': No such file or directory
Root device:    /dev/system/root (mounted on / as ext3)
Resume device:  /dev/system/swap
Device md1 not handled
Script /lib/mkinitrd/setup/72-block.sh failed!

If you don't have self compiled kernel installed, this leaves the system unbootable because of missing initrd after the update.
