Bugzilla – Bug 576948
KDE4 live CD fails to run - initial KDE window appears briefly - akonadi starts - blank green screen
Last modified: 2010-02-19 07:59:25 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.5; Linux) KHTML/3.5.10 (like Gecko) SUSE I downloaded X64 KDE live CD iso and burnt the CD. MD5 sums were checked and found to be correct. I booted from the CD on a Toshiba L40-156 laptop - Pentium dual core, 2GB ram, integrated graphics. I selected "run live CD" and everything started normally just like the 11.2 KDE live CD. The KDE window appeared for about 2 seconds with Firefox, Open Office etc as options. Then there was a mention of akonadi, the screen went totally blank pale green (openSUSE colour) and there were occasional CD whirrs but everything went dead. No key appeared to work and I had to forcibly power down the machine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Boot with live CD 2. 3.
I downloaded the Milestone 2 version (build 0447) and burnt the CD. The live CD runs happily. Please mark this bug as solved with milestone 2. Thanks to whoever fixed the problem. I will continue exploring openSUSE 11.3.
