Bugzilla – Bug 616397
the preview page should not have the edit button at the top bar
Last modified: 2018-04-17 09:02:30 UTC
After editing a wiki page, I can select "Show Preview" or "Save Page". With Preview, I get to see the page, with an additional text 'Remember that this is only a preview. Your changes have not yet been saved!' The user can now hit 'Edit' in the top row, and thus unexpectedly revert the text to the originally saved version. If this 'Edit' button would just scroll down and show the already open editor, this data loss could be avoided. I'd even suggest to hide the buttons in the top row, while the preview is shown. Harmless, as there is another copy of these buttons still available further down. Scrolling down makes the user aware that there is an unsaved edit preview pending. Do we have any means to recover a lost preview?
Browser back button will bring you to edits that you accidentally left. Edit link should be deactivated and grayed out, or removed completely, so that wiki editor has visual feedback that he is in a edit mode.
Hi, would you please kindly help to double check whether this issue still exist? If it doesn't exist, would you mind helping to close this issues? Thank you!
This issue still exists, although the browser will give a generic warning if you click on the top small "Edit" button: "This page is asking you to confirm that you want to leave - data you have entered may not be saved."
